Catch Me If You Can marks a change in direction for the band, with a harder, edgier sound, and dealing with some darker subject matter. Catch Me If You Can, is a song about drugs, the dangers they pose and the devastation they can reek. It was
written with a friend in mind, who sadly, went down a very dark path and lost their battle. It was a hard and painful song to write. The music was written by Craig, and the lyrics were a joint effort by Craig and Audrey. This is Audrey's first writing credit so far. The song’s instrumentation centres around an unusual guitar riff, one that was written by a keyboard player, and therefore not a natural guitarist’s approach. This, coupled with a child’s music box and nursery rhyme-type lyrics, give the song a very eerie, dreamy, ‘disconnected from reality’ feel, which emphasises the ‘leaving’ feeling of someone being cut adrift from the world and heading towards their ultimate end, a similar approach as David Bowie’s Space Oddity. The band are extremely proud of the song and hope that it resonates with people and potentially helps someone who
might need it.
